Online Creative Camp for young Gaeltacht artists

Ealaín na Gaeltachta is seeking applications from artists, groups or organisations to develop a creative initiative in the traditional arts for young Gaeltacht artists aged 12-17 years during the summer of 2020.

Introduction:

Ealaín na Gaeltachta in partnership with our stakeholders, provide a high quality traditional arts program for children and young people through Irish throughout the Gaeltacht. As part of the actions under the ‘Cuisle’ program, Ealaín na Gaeltachta would like to focus on developing opportunities for young people aged 12-17 to develop their abilities and skills in performing and presenting traditional art.

Description:

In the context of the Covid-19 crisis, Ealaín na Gaeltachta is eager to provide an online “residential camp” or series of activities and events for young people aged 12-17. Young people will have the opportunity to engage with technology, to explore and develop creative models that will enhance their potential as artists. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration among participants and on an approach that includes recording, performing and broadcasting the traditional arts. Potential models that focus on celebrating the outcome of the work and completing the arts initiative through publication or media coverage will also be welcomed.

Work Plan:

Ealaín na Gaeltachta welcomes proposals that include the following elements:

  • Group information
  • Aims and Objectives
  • Concept, layout and expected outcome of proposed activities
  • Proposed approach, work plan and timetable
  • Budget
  • Number of young people and participating artists
  • Artists’ biography and the group’s experience in traditional arts, youth and technology.
  • Description of the tools to be used; such as the apps and the technology it is meant to use.
  • Assessment and Evaluation System
