Applications Related to Children and Young People

Children and young people are a priority in Ealaín na Gaeltachta’s current strategy, and we have a dedicated fund for supporting the development of traditional arts and drama for children and young people through the Cuisle Programme, with support from the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. Applications can be made to develop the practice of artists or arts workers in the Gaeltacht who are working with children and young people outside of the formal education system.

In relation to children and young people, this scheme could support courses, professional development, or mentoring for artists related to children and young people’s arts practice.

The scheme will not support the following:

  • Individuals who are in the early stages of developing their practice;
  • Third-level courses, aspects related to third-level courses, or applicants still in the second or third-level education system;
  • Arts workshops aimed at the general public.

It is recommended that the form be printed, signed by the applicant, and submitted via email to cuisle@udaras.ie (if it relates to young people) or ealain@udaras.ie (if not). Applications, along with all necessary supporting materials, must be submitted at least four weeks before the start date of the training.
